Frowny face Francis at "school"

Roxanne just sent these photos from daycare this summer. I like to tell Francis she’s going to school in hopes that when she does end up going she’ll be excited about it and feel like an old pro. There are no more than 5 or 6 kids a day and all of them are about the same age. Most have been with Roxanne since they were about 2 months old. Francis was a late comer at about a year old, but loves it and seems to fit right in. We have been so thankful for Roxanne and the ability to have Francis there 2x a week. I’m not quite sure how things will play out when baby #2 comes and I’m no longer working, but for now I’m just thankful for the time we’ve had and Francis seems to really enjoy it. As a sidenote: I love the furniture at her daycare and so Matt is building Francis some! Whoo hoo!

Kristen - I see Sally in that pout. So cute!! I can't wait for our girls to meet one day soon…of course they will be best friends!

Storytime!

Francis and I went to the Brown Cow Ice Cream Parlor this morning for storytime. Every Monday morning at 9:30, Ms. Tracy tells stories and all are invited to come. It’s a great way to get 30 minutes of coffee in the morning while the kids go crazy. Francis and I went this past October, but she was still a little young to fully appreciate it. Today she was still a little confused, but it kept her attention the entire time. Regardless, it’s always nice to have some place to go! ๐Ÿ™‚

im - What will the story be tomorrow, I wonder! More importantly, what will be the ice cream flavors served?

Nature Museum

Sally just sent me this from her cameraphone. Apparently, after dropping me off at work this morning, she and little Francis went up the Notebaert Nature Museum in Lincoln Park.

I just noticed – from the little red spot in the lower left-hand corner – that Francis was trying to crawl up on that thing.

Francis has a sit-in at the YMCA

Today was a big day. It was our last swim class at the Y, Francis was so sad that she decided to have a little sit-in to protest, but no luck. It was still the last class. We’ll more than likely sign up again for the next session, but it’s hard to imagine it will be as much fun. We had such a fun group of moms and babies…so much so that I think we’ll be putting together a playgroup to stay in touch…and sane! ๐Ÿ™‚

From there things didn’t get too much better. We headed for Francis’s 18 month check up. As much as I LOVE our pedatrician, Francis literally screams at the sight of him. Today was no different, except that I came prepared. I had milk and graham crackers…the perfect match for a stinky appointment with the doctor. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Francis passed her checkup witth flying colors. She got a 97% in fact! (She’s in the 97% in height and weight…STILL! ) The only big news to report is that the doctor suggested taking her off whole milk and giving her 2% instead. It seems she doesn’t need any extra fat…go figure? ๐Ÿ˜‰ That’s my girl!

She greeted Daddy with her fancy new PJ’s this morning and a red heart balloon tied by her crib. Francis is sort of funny about presents… she seems to always get things for Matt that she would like too. Happy Valentines Day Daddy Matt! Your girls love you so much!
