Francis and Georgie: BFF

Monday mornings are typically reserved for a trip to the Brown Cow for storytime with Miss Tracy (also known as Dancy Nancy on Jack’s Big Music Show). However, she wasn’t there this week so we headed to the Garfield Park Conservatory with the Bassetts for a chance to run around without our coats. We learned that every Monday morning they have a special kids activity, this week it was building “Bug Houses.”

I’ve noticed, as of late, that Francis and George are really becoming…buddies. While building these little test tube bug houses Francis was continually encouraging and helping him saying “great job” and “here ya go Georgie.” Big sigh. I just love them. It is so heart warming to see a bond forming between them. My sincere hope is that they become and continue to be the best of friends.

My Sweet Girl

This was taken at the Garfield Park Conservatory this past Monday. The light there is so beautiful and it’s especially nice to run around without your coats on. If you live in the area and haven’t been…it’s time. Amidst our insane weather, it’s an absolute literal breath of fresh air.

Sooner or later, it was bound to happen. There have been so many pictures taken in this boy’s life, and at some point, we knew he would start posing with a cheesy grin. It has started. ย He’s actually saying “cheese.”

In the foreground, you’ll notice a baby bottle that we haven’t quite convinced George to give up.

katherine petillo - he looks so much like francis in this picture.

I just got this email from Matt

“As I was walking out of the Chase bank building this morning, I walked into the following scene: there was a black suburban by the curb on Clark and about three other cars forming an impromptu barricade. On the sidewalk, there were a couple secret service-looking guys holding back foot traffic either way. As I paused to gawk, a guy that Iโ€™m 90% sure was Tony Blair got out of the suburban and walked within five feet of me to go into the revolving door that Iโ€™d just used. Funny how they went through all that trouble just to let Blair get close to me. I never had him pegged for such a stalker.”

update: apparently, Tony Blair didn’t travel all that way just to get close to Matt. He also spoke at Depauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. Incidentally, “green castle” was the phrase describing the toilets at the childhood camp where I met Matt. ย They were outhouses painted green, and cleaning them was an oft-threatened, but never imposed, punishment.

Fulmer Fam - Y'all are almost too funny, do y'all really talk like that to each other in e-mails?

Sally - I swear this is exactly how the email came to me – start to finish. I married a funny man. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I love shooting weddings.

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of shooting with Sarah Barlow and her assistant Beth Laurren. Sarah has an incredible reputation with an impressive body of work to back it up. On a side note, she’s looking to start shooting bands for the Nashville music industry. We recently met up for lunch and had a fun time exchanging insight. She was kind enough to offer me a chance to assist her this weekend. Sarah, thank you, thank you, thank you. I learned so much and had such a great time just hangin’ with the ladies. ๐Ÿ˜‰
