The kids are sick. it’s not pretty over here. It doesn’t look good, it doesn’t smell good…it’s a bacteria explosion on Humphrey. On the upside, the kids couldn’t love us more. If you’re ever feeling insecure about your parenting connection, just get your kid sick. it’s a mommy/daddy love-fest: “Hold me, hug me!” A mommy can’t ever hear enough of that. Nevermind that I’m sitting on a couch that smells like the inside of a stomach.       Seen on the bottom of a 12-pack of Coke:
With this marketing strategy, the Coca-Cola Company is begging for the Super Size Me treatment. If you’ve never seen that movie, it documents a man’s month-long experiment in eating every meal at McDonalds. The weakest point in movie’s logic, in my opinion, is that no one – not even the restaraunt chain itself – claims that you should eat every meal at McDonalds. The film, while informing and entertaining, lacked persuasive weight for taking ridiculous excess as its test case. As I read their message, however, Coke seems to take it a step further than McDonalds. They suggest a new gospel in which man may live on Coke alone. Maybe some intrepid marathoner could take up this gauntlet and document the results.

that's hilarious. it reminds me of idiocracy when they watered their plants with electrolytes because it was part of the company's marketing communication. it became ingrained in the people's heads and that's what they did. followed the shameless words of corporate greed. the plants died of course.

I was definitely thinking about Idiocracy when I posted this. Incidentally, I read somewhere that someone is actually marketing Brawndo, the Thirst Mutilator.

Coca Cola is delicious. I would hook up an IV bottle full of it if I could! Francis and I were watching old Sesame Street episodes this afternoon and came across this oldie, but goodie. At the end of the clip, I turned to her and said “Now that was pretty silly don’t you think – an orange singing opera?” She responded, “Let’s make oranges!” Check out the inspirational video and the “fruit” (hardy, har, har) of our labor on Flickr.

we love the opera orange too! why is sesame street so lame now? i love the idea of making your own version of the orange, btw. oh, and great pics on your blog. what kind of camera do you shoot with? It’s almost midnight and our little Georgie decided to wake up and socialize for a bit. It’s hard to be too mad at him when he’s so sleepy and cuddly. It’s actually kind of fun to have a bit of one on one time with him. We’ll see if I still think it’s fun tomorrow morning…update to come. 😉

I don't think there is a more universal feeling than the one you just wrote about for all parents everywhere. We had the same thing happen in our house last night, too. On Monday, it snowed for just a couple of hours in the afternoon. Francis and I (while George napped) were able to get out there just in time for some sidewalk snow angels. Francis was so fun to watch. She was so proud of herself. She just giggled and giggled and said “Mommy, Look! I can make snow angels!” She also suggested we play the run down the sidewalk game. Which, of course, we did. She beat me every time. 😉 She’s growing up so fast. Big sigh. I love her.
