Eskimo kiss

Night before last, Matt showed Francis an eskimo kiss for the first time. She loved it and gave me one during our tea party on the grass of the pumpkin patch we visited today. She seemed so grown up today.

Follow the Red Brick Road

After months of waking up to beeping construction trucks, our brick street is finally finished. it’s been a blast having the road closed – we’ve had giant sand piles to play in and trucks to climb on. However, all of that fun came to an end on Monday when they cut the ribbon and moved the barricades to our beautiful new Humphrey Ave.

In celebration, we decided to have a kid parade and as you can see, Francis took the task very seriously. She dressed up as a “boo-tiful princess” and Georgie is wearing Francis’s old Chewbacca costume. My favorite part of her “float” was the Nicor Gas Company flag (that was previously a marker in our yard) or maybe it was the balloon that said “719 rules!” It’s a tough call.

I love her.

Today we went to the Brown Cow for ice cream. When we got to the counter, I asked Francis what kind of ice cream she wanted and she replied, “Sprinkles!” Smart girl.

Speaking of smart, she loves playing doctor. The doctor kit makes an appearance every day in our home – mulitiple times. I go to the doctor, George goes to the doctor, even Scout has been known to have boo-boos that must be treated by Doctor Francis. Recently I asked Francis if she wanted to be a doctor when she grows up.

She said, “But, I’m already a doctor.”

Lola Monkey

Kat, Tom, and Lola came to see us this past weekend and it was so so good – and too too short. Man, there is just nothing like spending time with good friends. Friday we went downtown and played in the fountain at Millenium park. The guys played golf on Saturday and since the Guldes only have one car, Kat and I stuck around the neighborhood – went to the park and our local coffee shop, The Buzz. Sunday, Kat and I went to the hipster area of town and went shopping and Monday we went to the zoo.

One thing is for sure. I will never let another 6 months pass without seeing that crew. I love you guys.
