St. Baldricks 2007

We’ve been asked how to donate to the St. Baldrick’s Day fund. Here is an important message from our sister Susan, with a link to the donation page:

Hello!

Anna is participating in St. Baldrick’s Day again this year. As a matter of fact, if you have seen her recently, you may have noticed that she is already sporting the new hair[less]do. Anna was called a few weeks ago and asked if she would be willing to come the next day and participate in a ceremony where the St. Baldrick’s organization was donating $25,000 (in Fletcher’s name) to the OKC Children’s Hospital for research. She was specifically asked if she’d be willing to come and have her head shaved in conjunction with the donation ceremony. She agreed (of course) and then, the next day, was surprised to learn the local news stations were interested in featuring a story about her donation. See television coverage of her story here.

The official event this year is being held this Sunday – and while Anna won’t be shaving twice in 2007 – she will be there and would love to be a part of helping Fletcher’s Team meet their fundraising goal. If you would be willing to be a part of this great cause (and organization) please click here.

Thanks so much!Susan

This one is of Francis brushing her teeth. There’s really not much to say. It’s just so darn funny. This is a great window into our world. This is very Francis.

Kristen - "Are you going to brush your teeth, TOO, Mommy?"

I love that part.

Next I love the "NOT YET, Okay?"

And then when you ask her, "What did you say?" as if you weren't paying attention to the 20 times she repeated herself before.

I just wish I could have been there, but thanks to the video I feel like I was.

Did I mention that I love her?

Francis and I took the el downtown for the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day parade. We had a great time laughing at all of the people with funny hats, watching the bucket drummers, checking out the green river, eating Garrett’s popcorn, and meeting up with the Browns for lunch…where mommy drank some green beer. All in all a great day… except that Matt and Georgie were home sick!

Tap shoes: She insisted on wearing them – as she does pretty much everyday now. I brought her tennis shoes thinking she might change her mind at some point throughout the day, but no.

So, I get this email from babycenter.com today:
“As your baby’s muscles are becoming stronger, he’s apt to lunge forward onto all fours from a sitting position. He may even go into a “pre-crawl” exercise, rocking back and forth on hands and knees with his trunk parallel to the floor. You may hold your breath at this astonishing feat — expecting him to take off at any moment. Some babies, before long, will do just that, while others will crouch and rock in place for weeks before actually getting anywhere. Most babies begin to crawl between 7 and 10 months.”

Yeah, thanks for nothin’ babycenter.com. How about babies that crawl at 6 months and climb stairs at 7!
You can be sure I’ve been “holding my breath at THIS astonishing feat.”
Can we all get down on our knees now and pray for Sally?

p.s. thanks to Aunt Denise and Uncle Jeff for the awesome St. Pat’s care package!

Last weekend we had the pleasure of meeting up with our friends Imron and his fiancé, Muniza. We decided to meet them on Devon in Chicago, an area known for its great Indian food. We had high hopes of finding an outfit for me to wear to their wedding. Something authentic to complement their traditional ceremony this May. In fact, their wedding day will be on our 5 year anniversary! (Well, one of THREE of their wedding days.) Despite not finding the outfit, we had a great time. We ate an amazing lunch and enjoyed the company. Congratulations again you two!
